MARIO FERNANDES

MARIO FERNANDES or rather Mario de Majorda as he would like to be referred to as, started singing at the age of 13 and remembers acting in dramas of Felly Lucas and Jeoffrey de Majorda in the seventies.

Mario mentioned coming to Kuwait in 1983 and being quite active with Kuwait's Holy Family Cathedral's choir & mentioned about being the Choir maestro at present.

Having a great enthusiasm for acting, he mentioned that he was able to pursue the same by helping out in the Holy Family Cathedral's Parents Day programme(s) wherein he used to write, direct, act in the same and also compose & sing songs.

About his own productions Mario said that he for the first time in 1994 under the Ferns Brothers banner staged the drama "SAMBAU", (which starred Comedians Philip, Domnic & Querobin & others) and had to say that that projected video clippings were shown (that too with very limited resources), for the first time & being ably managed by Tony Fernandes and Agnelo.

Amongst his roles he mentioned that his best so far was in Rafael's drama "ALIZA", in which he played a comedian's role.
Of the other artistes had to say that Comedians Domnic & Agostin & Jose Rod (for his acting & composing) were his favourites.

Of his Son, Jonathan, Mario had to say that he was indeed very proud about his Son showing stage talents in acting & singing at a very young age and he hoped that Jonathan makes a name for himself in singing as well as in acting. Of himself & on his being where he is today, Mario attributed his success to his Wife for her patience & understanding and also due to her standing by him at all times.

Mario has so far released 2-Konkanni tapes entitled "MOLADIK JIVIT" (featuring Querobin, Anthony San, Jose Rod, Rosary Ferns) and the other one being "PUTT".

Having recently acted in the drama 'Tujem Naum Vhodd Zaum', wherein he put in a good performance together with Comedians Ben, Domnic, Phillip, Luis & Josephine, Mario now has plans of staging his own drama entitled "ANVDDO" on 01st Dec., 2000 in Kuwait with stage artistes from Goa and those based in Kuwait.
