PROFILE OF CYRIL ALMEIDA.

Thirty two year old Cyril Almeida a resident of Tonca, Caranzalem mentioned that he started acting & singing at the age of 12 in his Brother-in-law's (Anthony D'Silva's) drama "Havuch Zannam" and cited the love of his Mother tongue, Konkanni as the main reason for his being on the stage. It seems that the late C. Alvares spotted him singing in Bernard Fernandes' drama and gave him a break in his tiatr "Zau Zau Teg Bhau" in 1985, which  also was his first venture into commercial acting.

Cyril stated that he kind of followed in his late Father's Domingos (who used to stage shows in their locality) and also after everyone in his family encouraged him specially appreciating his singing prowess.

Cyril mentioned acting with a lot of directors including the late C. Alvares, Anil Kumar, Comedian Agostinho, Bernard Fernandes, Stanley Vaz, Fr. Planton Faria and it seems that he wrote & directed Kabar Zatoch Suru Zalem, Beporva.. (which according to Cyril did about 25-shows).

Bodlo, Burak, Amche Char Dis, Beporva, Chukleli Vatt by
Bernard Fernandes.
Niz Fuddari by Fr. Planton Faria.
Dev Podvedar, Dennem Avoichem, Dubhav Ek Uzo by Anil Kumar.
Torsad by Menino Araujo.
Zau Zau Teg Bhau by C. Alvares.
Ostorechem Dusrem Rup by Stanley and
Suseg by Comedian Agostinho.

With regards to his favourites, considers :-
The late C. Alvares as the Best Director, Anil Pednekar as Best Actor, Junior Nelson as Best Singer and the song Doth that he sang in C. Alvares' tiatr and the role of a Doctor that he played in Bernard Fernandes' drama "Chukleli Vatt" as his favourite song and role respectively.

Cyril mentioned about having an audio album 'Apswarti' and it seems that he penned the lyrics for Rumalo Estrocio's album "Recad"

Cyril's future plans include producing a drama of his own.
