Received your reply dated 20/08/2002.  We are herebelow submitting our most competitive quotation for co-ordinating all the activities pertaining to processing of Portuguese Nationality and Portuguese Passport.

1.   To obtain birth i.e. Nascimento Teor and marriage i.e. Casamento Teor of applicant, spouse and parents from the Archives, Sub

      Registrar, Panchayat or any other Government offices Rs. 5000/-

2.   For translations, foreign Notary attestations, Collector attestation, Home Department attestation fo all the documents

3.   For Portuguese Consulate attestations cost depends on the No. of documents.  Rs. 278/- per document approx 10 - 12

4.  Submission and handling charges of only Birth Registration in Portugal is US Dollar 350 i.e INR 17500/- (if married after

30/11/1974).  In this case Marriage registration will be a separate process which will take place only once the nationality is

obtained.

5.  Submission and handling charges of Birth as well as Marriage Registration in Portugal US Dollar 500 i.e. INR 25000/-(if

married on or before 30/11/1974)  In this case we can submit Birth and Marriage process together.

6.  Divergency in the names is not permitted in Portugal and hence if there is any mistake of the names of the applicant, Spouse,

parents the same will have to be corrected as against the Birth Certificate/Teor/Nascimento.  We assist in obtaining a fresh

passport if incase we detect a error in names.

     The cost to obtain a fresh passport is Rs. 1000/-

     The cost of corrections is Rs. 500/-

In short I am giving you the requirements to obtain the Portuguese Nationality.  For all those who were born before 18/12/1961 the documents can be submitted directly in the Conservatoria dos Registos Centrais, Lisboa and those who are born after 18/12/1961 the documents have to be submitted at the place of the residence that is in Goa.  We do not advise people to submit their papers in Gulf because there is lots of co-ordination difficulties and the Portuguese Consulates in Gulf do not respond promptly.  We know number of cases which are held up for want of verifications and identification at the Portuguese Consulate in Gulf.  So we should either submit the cases directly to Portugal or else in Goa.  We handle both type of cases.

2.  Indian passport in original: Applicant's name and the parents names on your Indian Passport should be exactly as per your birth certificate.  If there is any variation the passport booklet should be corrected in the Indian High Commission or else the same can be done in Goa.

4. Nascimento/Teor/Birth Certificate of Parents /Photocopy of the birth register of the spouse: This document will be required at the moment only if the marriage has taken place on or before 30/11/1974 so that the marriage also can be registered along with the birth.  If the marriage has taken place after 30/11/1974 than the registration of the marriage will take place only after the registration of birth.

    5.  Residence certificate with a photograph pasted and attested by the issuing authority, and the complete residential address of the same issued from the Mamlatdar or Panchayat.

    6.  Additional proof of residence specially between 01-01-1974 to 31-12-1975 could be either from Church, School, or Employment certificate with a photograph pasted.

For all those who were born after 18/12/1961 one of the parent is compulsorily required to be registered in the Conservatoria dos Registos Centrais, Lisboa that is we have to obtain the "Assentos de Nascimento" and "Casamento" of the parent.  Only then we can submit the case of the applicant.  The time taken to register the parents birth and marriage is almost 1 and half year.  The cost involvement is as follows
