Way back in 1978 a few Goan expatriates came together and formed the United Goans Centre. It was formed mainly to organize & promote Sports activities and carry out the same in a more organized manner.

The United Goans Centre boasted of a very strong football team called the U.G. Strikers which in its heyday won many a football tournament. They were the Superleague Champions in 1985-86 season for which they were granted a appreciation Certificate by K.I.F.F. (Kuwait India Football Federation), which the President of the Club proudly displays. To this day the Strikers take part in the various football tournaments held at the Soor grounds in Kuwait.

Besides organising Sports activities, the U.G.C. also organises the "SUMMER BELLE" an all night dance show in the month of August. The Summer Belle is well organised and well attended too. As per U.G.C. the proceeds of this show are utilised to promote Sports activities and provide kits to its players. They also give Charitable donations to some institutions in Goa.
