Yave Yave Gajanana audio cassette
distributed in Goa
PANAJI: An audio cassette entitled Yave Yave Gajanana, featuring Goan singer
Devanand Malvankar and produced by Vakratund Arts, Mumbai was distributed in Goa
on Thursday. The cassette was released at Mumbai a few days ago.
Malvankar, originally from Caisuva-Anjuna was a student of the drama repertory
company of the Kala Academy Goa. In all eight songs, four each on either side
have been composed by the disciples of Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki and Mahadev
Pednekar. The music is arranged by Ashwin Srinivas and Uday Mopkar while singer
Malvankar has been assisted by Vrushali Malge, originally hailing from Karnataka
and presently based at Mumbai.
Malvankar has also acted in TV serial like Sabka Malik Ek, which was telecast by
the Goa Doordarshan. The cassette is priced at Rs 35.
Kala Academy vice chairman Vishnu Wagh who was also present praised Malvankar
for releasing his maiden audio cassette. He said that most of the students
passed out from the Kala Academy have been finding their own ways at Mumbai.
According to him, two former students Balkrishna Marathe and Shripad Pai have
respectively ventured into music to TV serials and in film direction for EE
Television. He felt the need to promote these students.
