Shri Ulhas Buyao , is an exceptionally versatile, multifaceted personality of Goa, a Singer, a Lyricist. a Music Composer, a Poet, a Stage Artist, a Script Writer,and a Successful Industrialist & Businessman .

Shri Ulhas Buyao ,a talented musician and singer having extraordinary voice and sweetness , his music embraces the traditions of Goa 's Konkani songs ,and his lyrics brings depth and authority to his music. He has written and composed music, producing a myriad of original compositions of konkani songs. His ability of handling the diverse elements of a Writer, Lyricist , Composer & also being the Singer is remarkable, and possibly the most interesting Artist Goa has.

Shri Ulhas Buyao's Songs are forever embedded in the hearts of millions of Konkani lovers , he has sung more than 1000 songs in Konkani , and all composed by him,
he is best remembered for his Classic Song "Channeache Rati." Which is supposed to be the masterpiece of Shri Ulhas Buyao's Voice and Music, This song has gained enormous popularity and has tempted others to copy the song as well as the music, and the "Channeache Rati." been copied and was sung & Composed by the eminent Bollywood Singers & Music Director , and for which Shri Ulhas Buyao has filled a writ petition on the sale and distribution of the cassette.

Shri Ulhas Buyao has the versatility to sing & compose music of a different types, contemporary, ethnic, folk, devotional & Bhajans too, and ranging from the humorous to the serious, the light-hearted to the intense.
He, Today at the age of 58 years still has the command on his voice, with his original unchanged resonant voice, style and youthful nature, he still is one of the most popular Konkani Singer, Lyricist & Composer enriching the Konkani Music. Shri Ulhas Buyo is a born artist, and since his childhood he used to compose songs and later it became his passion and love for Konkani and Music, He was invited by the All India Radio , Goa, to sing Konkani songs , and from 1963 to 1983 he had ung more than 300 Songs. The Gramophone Company of India (now HMV) has recorded and Marketed 3 records of Shri Ulhas Buyao's Songs .

Shri Ulhas Buyao 's Contribution to the Konkani language has been written in the Golden Letters, also his contribution to the land of Goa can not be forgotten , during the Goa Merger Controversy, where two divergent views emerging , one group wanted Goa to be merged with the State of Maharashtra, while the other group wanted Goa to be remained an independent Union Territory, as to retain its Culture, and self - identity bringing to the fore arguments based on linguistic science, culture and self-identity. The decision to have an Opinion Poll was then decided, and both the Groups started the momentum by holding Public Meetings, and Shri Ulhas Buyao, who was active in the Non-Merger group, led by the army of young artists, began a " Jai Gomantak Kala Pathak" with Konkani songs written by writers like Dr Manoharrai Sardesai, Shankar Bhandari and Adv Uday Bhembre. The response for these programme was so overwhelming that pro-merger groups began disrupting Shri Ulhas Buyao's Jai Gomantak Kala Pathak in their stronghold areas, during these period Shri Ulhas Buyao performed 75 Public gathering & meetings in 15 days, convincing the people with his golden voice & Sensuous melodies , and the Opinion Poll as held on the 16th. January 1967, where the Non- Merger group, which was backed by Shri Ulhas Buyao won the opinion poll, retaining Goa as a separate identity.

Shri Ulhas Buyao has performed more than 200 Konkani Stage Shows (Tiatra), which includes 75 Stage Shows of the famous show " Ekuch Rasto " and " Hanga nith na " with the prominent Konkani Stage Artist & Director Mr.M.Boyer , ,He has also performed in some of the noted Konakani Stage Shows / Drama's (Tiatra) like Premkumar's" Vishwas " , Adv.Mike Mehta's " Sunita " and which are still being remembered by the Konkani Lovers.
