Remo - Pride Of Goa

The latest album by Goa’s undisputed musical genius Remo Fernandes titled India Beyond is really enjoyable. The beauty of this album is that it has some nice fusion of western and Indian music. There is no blasting music this time, but surely there is some
great, cool new-age music which gives peace to your mind. The numbers worth listening are, Face in Space, Piano for Shakti, Solita, The Lazy Lover and of course Fish Bowl called life and The Empty Stage (The songs which are dedicated to his former band members namely Dharmendra, Selwyn, Victor and Sunil who died in a tragic accident).

Hat’s off to Remo for giving us this beautiful album after a gap of almost two years. I salute him because he is the only Goan singer to date who has the guts to challenge any Indian singer anywhere, anytime right on stage with his powerful live and original music. This humble singer from Siolim is really Goa’s pride.

He never gives a damn to his critics and believes in his own music which is strictly original. I think that’s what makes him different from other Indian singers. It’s pity today that even after so many years, no other Goan singer has been able to come close to Remo’s achievements.

The reason is because most of our current Goan singers prefer to imitate and copy other musicians all their lives and that’s very bad. The final result is nothing but zero. One example is of our former great band,  ‘The Syndicate’. They played and played, finally everything was over, today no one in India knows who was "Syndicate".

The thing is that most of our current Goan musicians and singers do not believe in hard work, they just do not have the motivation of doing something great in music.

Today Remo has reached the top not because of some music companies but it’s only because of his hard work and efforts. He believed in "Never say die" attitude and that was it. Today he is the most famous pop star in the country.

Best of luck Remo, you’ve been rocking our country for the past so many years, your music still has the power to rock India, so keep rocking... You are Goa’s pride and only hope.
