Iris Rodrigues


Iris Rodrigues, soprano, studied music at the University of Western Ontario. She sang for 4 years with "Opera In Concert" under the Direction of Robert Cooper, where she performed roles such as Therese in Arrieta's Marina, and Poussette in Massenet's Manon. Her repetoire ranges from broadway musicals to coloratura opera arias. With the Calbes Opera Workshops her roles have included, Gilda in Rigoletto, Lucy in The Telephone, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and the role of Lakme. She was featured as a soloist on New Years Eve at the Living Arts Center in Mississauga and recently sang at a promotional event organized by the Mississauga Opera Company. She has also performed with the Oakville Chamber Orchestra & Brampton Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Charles Demuynck. For the past seven years Iris was the Children’s Choir Director at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Brampton. She is the cantor at St. Rose of Lima Church in Scarborough and also at St. Peters church in Downtown Toronto. She has won several awards at the Peel and Kiwanis music festivals.
