A Heaven Sent Opportunity!
ANGEL RECORDS is a Goa-based Music Company dedicated to promoting Goan music and
Goan Artistes to the rest of the world. We take care of all aspects of making an
album from sequencing to recording; from duplicating to CD writing and from
cover designing to printing.
At ANGEL RECORDS we believe that music has no language, no barriers. Hence our
ongoing projects include an Indipop album by (late) Selwyn and Jude, an
unplugged Konkani folk songs album, Balkrishna Marathe's Hindi love songs,
Konkani Pop songs by Merwyn Caldeira, 'Destination Calvary' - a spiritual
journey with Alfwold Silveira and many more.
As a tribute to past masters, we are also releasing remastered albums of Wilmix,
H. Briton, Wilmix & Sharon and Young Chico and more.
ANGEL RECORDS also endeavors to unearth and nurture untapped musical talent that
is inherent to all Goans. While all of them might not achieve superstardom, many
could scale heights of fame and personal glory in the field of music. Our first
step in this direction is the "SING TO FAME" contest being conducted
at The Adega Pub at Cidade de Goa Beach Resort. Every Wednesday at Adega
is 'Karaoke Night' and ANGEL RECORDS will be present to scout for Elvis Presleys
and Whitney Houstons of the future.
Singers with potential will be invited to our studios and for just Rs.500/-
they can record upto thirty minutes of songs in their own voice. At the end of
the recording they will be given a C.D. of the same, which they can use as a
demo for presentation or as a gift to someone special. If they have what it
takes to record an album, ANGEL RECORDS will provide them with original songs to
sing as well as produce their albums with no financial liability to the singers.
Considering that an album costs anywhere from Rs.1,50,000/- to Rs.3,00,000/- for
a regional release and upto 35,00,000 for a national release, it would be fair
to assume that Rs. 500/- is a heaven-sent opportunity!
And if ANGEL RECORDS feels that anyone of these singers is really special, we
will even make a Music Video for them, thus catapulting them into instant
stardom. Our future plans include a talent search for bands, all India roadshows
and concert promos in The Middle East, London and USA. So all you
potential Elvis Presleys and Whitney Houstons of Goa drop in on any Wednesday

KARAOKE
- SING TO FAME CONTEST
Angel Records is a Goa-based company dedicated to promoting talent in Goa.
As part of their endeavours they initiated a 'Sing to Fame' contest at the Adega
Pub, Cidade de Goa Beach Resort; every wednesday. Many hopeful and talented
singers auditioned there and while some of them are being screened in the
studio, one among them has hit the jackpot.
Gitanjali More has just bagged a recording contract from Angel Records. Just 15
years of age, this bundle of talent was born for the stage and has been winning
laurels for her singing talents since she was nine! Earlier this year, she won
the title of junior French Nightingale 2000 organised by Alliance Francais de
Goa.
As you read this Gitanjali is doing a degree course at the Goa College of Music,
Kala Academy specialising in Indian classical vocal music. But her love for
music encompasses both Indian and Western genres, from pop to classical to Hindi
films and Indipop. Her favorites artistes are Lata Mangueshkar, Asha Bhosle,
Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Hariharan and Elvis Presley! And believe it or not
her favorite band is the Beatles.
She will start her recording career with an Indipop album which will be launched
on a national level and we wish her all the best. If more of you have what it
takes then all it takes is to drop in at the Adega Pub at Cidade de Goa Beach
Resort every wednesday and take part in the Angel Records, "Karaoke-Sing to
Fame Contest". It could be your date with destiny!
