PHOTO ENTHUSIASTS PLAN STATE-LEVEL CONTEST, Photo2K IN JAN
PANAJI, Dec 15: Photography enthusiasts will usher in the
millenium with Photo2K, an exhibition-cum-contest of their work,
to be hosted at and presented by the Fundacao Oriente.

To be held in January at the Fundacao Oriente campus in the
Fontainhas quarter of Panjim, it is open to all interested in the
field of photography.

This even is being organised by the newly-formed Goa Association
of Photographers (GAP). GAP's aim is to promote the interest in
photography in Goa.

To meet this aim by keeping the contest as open as possible,
there will be no restrictions on entries with regard to the
subject, and the theme has been kept open.

Entry forms will be shortly be available from Sun Circulating
Library, Despamont Building, Near State Bank, Sant Inez, Panjim,
and prominent photo studios and processing labs in the state.

Each photo should have its own caption on a separate and
unattached sheet of paper, and complete technical details (title
of photo, name and address and phone number of photographer,
camera used with details of shutter speed, aperture and film).

Photographs have to be suitably mounted for exhibition on
boxboard (not mount board), leaving a two-inch border on the
bottom and a one-inch border on the other three sides.

Entry fee for the competition is Rs 50 for each set of three
photographs (for non-members of GAP) and Rs 30 for GAP members.

Those entering this contest may submit any number of entries. But
each entrant should list the order of preference that photos
submitted should be displayed, space permitting, at the
exhibition. In case extra entries are received, only higher-
preferenced photos will be displayed.

This exhibition is to take place in end-January. GAP plans to
hold mini-lectures on photography-related subjects during the
course of the exhibition. Photo entries may be B&W or colour
prints. Slides are not acceptable. Last date for entries to be
handed in is January 15.
