The Goan Welfare Society (GWS), Kuwait hails the Goa Government's much awaited decision on January 18, 2000 to relax the domicile requirement for admission to professional colleges in Goa, thus protecting the rights of the sons of the soil, particularly those in the Middle East, whose final destination is back to the soil where they come from.

It has been one of the demands made by the Goan Welfare society (GWS) for several years and a number of memorandums were made to the relevant government authorities and institutions.  A delegation recently visited the Chief Minister's office in the first week of January 2000, and the issue, when highlighted, was promised to be given the highest priority.

We hope that our young expatriate Goans will take advantage of the same and avail of the change of admission procedures.

In service of the Goan community,
Goan Welfare Society (GWS), Kuwait
