As scheduled, Konkani Musical Show was held on 2nd of this month at Indian Arts Circle, Funaites, attended by Konkani audience from Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai and elsewhere. Starting at 4.30 p.m., Mr. Fidelis Fernandes one of the members of KHK and director of the show welcomed the gathering. This time Mr. Fidelis created another feat on the Konkani Stage by introducing the artistes and musicians in a novel way that is by entering them thru the back door and passing through the crowd, and in the middle of the crowd on a specially erected platform each of them were presented with a bouquet by two kids. They were then led to the Stage and finally all of them returned to the crowd and presented the members of the audience with the bouquets which were presented to them. This was a very interesting scene that received tremendous appreciation from the audience.

During the Show Fr. Gabriel Dias was presented with a gold memento by KHK thru the hands of the Chief Guest the Ambassador of India H. E. Prabhau Dayal on behalf of all the those present in the Hall. Inspite of having a very busy schedule the Ambassador made a point to attend this show organised in honour of Fr. Gabriel Dias who is going to bid adieu to Kuwait. In his very beautiful speech starting first in Konkani and shifting over to English, the Ambassador said he is sad to know Fr. Gabriel is leaving Kuwait. Then he went on saying that Fr. Gabriel's services are very much required in Kuwait more for the social and humanitarian work he does in helping the downtrodden members of the community. The Ambassador also said that Fr. Gabriel's leaving Kuwait will create adverse effect on those suffering people who needs his services. He also applauded the excellent contribution of Fr. Gabriel in the service not only of community but in a true Christian manner of humanity.

Well known local artistes Mendes Bros. and Lucian Dias who was especially brought from Goa were honoured with commemorative Plaques for their enormous contribution in the promotion of Konkani Stage. The Plaques were presented to them by Fr. Gabriel Dias. During the show a special souvenir was also released, Mr. Salvador Dias the lucky winner of Souvenir prize - Air Ticket Kuwait-Bombay-Kuwait donated by Emirates Airlines returned it to the organisers to donate it for the repatriation of one maid from the Indian Embassy's Safe House. The Stage setting was beautifully done by Menino Fernandes. The musical score was performed by visiting maestro Josinho on Sax and the locals namely Shahu on keyboard, Dennise on Base Guitar, Johnny on Rhythm Guitar and new entrant to Kuwait Tony on Electronic Drums. The proceedings were compered by Rosary Ferns.

The show began with the opening chorus on greatness of Konkani composed by Rosary Ferns and sung by him along with Anthony San and Marcus Vaz who were later on joined in rows by all the artistes. Hindi playback singer Naphie Rod stole the show by rendering 5 beautiful songs two of them in Hindi - the first solo and the second a duet with Anthony San in honour of the Ambassador. Naphie also showed her talent - that being a Goan and a Konkani singer - by singing in Marathi and Gujarati. Prince Jacob and his comedian brother Humbert released peals of laughter in the hall by rendering comedy songs and side shows. They were ably supported by comedy princess Joana.

Prince Jacob's one decent solo on those Goans leaving Goa and settling outside was very interesting as while singing he also showed the film of Goans settled abroad how they lost their homes and other valuables to the Malyalis and ghanttis. Anthony San's duet with Naphie "Goykar ani Munglurkar" was well received by the audience so also both the items of Ronny De Cunha and his wife Jasmine. In the second item they were joined by a pair of two youngsters Jerry and Meera surprisingly both from Kerala, who performed a beautiful  dance which delighted the crowd very much. This dancing scene was choreographed by Jyoti Colaco who is a well known dancing instructor from Mangalore.  Lucian Dias rendered two solos, Young Chico also 2 and one duo with Anthony San, Joana one solo and a duet with Humbert while Rosary Ferns besides his skit rendered one solo and a duet with Lucy and Mario Fernandes a solo.

Mendes Bros. sang a trio in praise of Fr. Gabriel's missionary work in Kuwait. Anthony San besides his other items also rendered a solo and skit. Popular local artiste Marcus Vaz rendered an interesting solo on death so also by a new entrant to Konkani
stage Master Nuferd from the Indian School.  The grand finale came with a beautiful medley song sung by each of the artistes. They rendered popular numbers of their favorite artistes.
