1. INTRODUCTION:

Over a decade ago, a few responsible Colvenkars in Kuwait came together and formed an Association christened as "Colva Parishioners".  The main objective of Colva Parishioners was to explore way and means to contribute towards construction of theParish Hall in Colva, Goa.  Colva Parishioners was headed by a prominent son of Colva, Augustino Baltazar Fernandes, popularly known as Mr. AB.  And the Colva Parishioners managed to raise a contribution of around 3.5 lakhs Indian Rupees.  This was made possible due to the dedication and hard work of all the members concerned.  The Colva Parishioners lasted till the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

After liberation of Kuwait, a large number of Colvenkars came to Kuwait due to the vast opportunities offered by Kuwait which was basking in the glory of liberation.  It was felt at this time that there was an urgent need to look into the social, cultural, educational and sports necessities of the Colvenkars in Kuwait.  Consequently, Colva Parishioners was re-christened as "Colva United Centre"  (CUC) to encompass  a broader psychic feelings rather than be confined to a narrow parochial corridor.

Colva United Centre is today involved in various socio-cultural and sports activities in Kuwait, as well as in Goa.  CUC has grown into a formidable organization, recognized and registered at the Embassy of India in Kuwait.  CUC owes its success to all its members, sponsors, donors and well wishes.
